This program is free and open to the public, and will take place in the William G. McGowan Theater of the National Archives Building in Washington, DC, located on the National Mall at Constitution Ave. and 7th Street, NW.
This PBS documentary The Great Famine examines an important but little-known episode in American-Russian relations. Herbert Hoover, then Secretary of Commerce, in 1921 organized a massive U.S. two-year relief campaign that battled starvation and disease and saved millions of lives in Russia. The film is based on the book The Big Show in Bololand by Berntrand Patenaude.

Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of Lyndon Johnson, Susan Ford Bales, daughter of Gerald Ford and Clifton Truman Daniel, grandson of Harry Truman and I enjoyed the Key West evening in front of President Truman's favorite get away location.
